The Green Concept

Plantable Island

The Modular System

With four plant sections in various sizes that can be combined, laid out with base plates, all types of traffic islands can be built - as a lane divider, on the lane edge or as a roundabout island.

The Material

The plant chevrons and base plates are made of recycling, are permanently durable, weatherproof and very sturdy once filled with soil. The coating is applied in an environmentally friendly, durable flame-spraying process. The standard colours are light anthracite and porphyry; the full range of colours is also available. The top, straight part of the plant chevron contains reflective beads.

The Technology

All construction elements can be mounted by hand. The planted island stands on "feet" so the surface water can easily drain away and the road drainage does not need to be changed. This means short construction times and low levels of traffic hindrance.

Filled according to the "green roof system" the plant islands care for themselves and are almost maintenance-free.

The Accessories

Panicle strip
Galvanised perforated strip fixed to the inside protects the plantable island from moving and gives extra hold.

The installation of a drainage pipe as a watering aid is recommended when constructing and planting in the summer months.
